Winter storms aren’t the safest time to explore places like The Peastacks on Guernsey’s south coast cliffs, but occasionally nature will reward effort and bravery with a beautiful scene. The wind was so strong that it was difficult to stand up and I was ready to head back to the safety of the cliff path when a violent shower forced me to find shelter against the rock on the left of this photo. As it passed, a rainbow appeared in the sky above the cliffs and I was able to capture this scene while frantically wiping rain from the lens and using my bodyweight to hold the tripod steady.
