Description
Pierre Aux Rats Obelisk is tucked away in the sand dunes on the North of Herm. I was mislead as a child to believe it was built in memorial to someone’s dead pet parrot. I have no idea where that idea came from! Sadly, it is simply a navigation mark, but a very intriguing one at that. This image of the obelisk was photographed at dawn with the sun rising over Sark and some beautiful clouds overhead.
