The Corona crisis is hitting business hard but I’m not giving up without a fight! This is the first in a series of blog posts detailing services that I can still provide but perhaps haven’t promoted much in the past - today it’s retouching your own photos and printing.
Whether you consider yourself a photographer or not, I’m sure you’ve taken at least one photograph that you love but you think it could look even better. Perhaps it’s too bright, too dark, the colours aren’t right or there’s a distracting object that you’d like removed, or a photo of a loved-one that needs attention. Whatever the problem, with decades of post-processing experience, I’m here to help. I can edit, retouch and print your images for you.

Here’s a standard jpeg photo taken on my cheap Samsung smartphone, slide the bar left or right to see before & after.
As you can see, there is a lot that can be done to improve the original image. In this case, bringing mood back into the washed out sky, contrast and colour enhancements and removal of a rubbish bag on the quayside. See more examples at the end of this post.
For best results you should supply the original full-size image file from your camera. Some cameras allow you to shoot raw + jpg, so check to see if you have a raw file as that will produce the best results. If all you have is a jpg file, that’s fine, just try to supply the full-size original. I can work with files that you have posted online but please be aware that these may have been downsized or reduced in quality. The more information I have to work with, the better the final result, so original files are always best.
Include details of what you’d like altered in your image. If you’re not sure, leave it to me. I’ll supply you with a quote and will only start work once you’ve agreed to it. When complete, I will return a draft and if you’re happy, an invoice for payment. Once payment is received, I’ll send you the final edited version. If you request printing, this will be posted to you.
I’m equipped to print in-house on professional-grade papers up-to size A3+ and I also have access to one of Europe’s finest print labs for anything that I can’t produce. Given the current Corona virus uncertainties, I will favour in-house printing where possible. Please note that the bigger the file you provide, the larger I can print with minimal loss of detail.
Please complete the form to request this service. I will get back to you with a quote for you to agree to before I start working on your image/s.
Here are a couple more examples, taken with my pretty average Samsung smartphone camera. Note the removal of a leg and beer bottles in the first, and general improvement in contrast and colour on the second.
